The UN has announced that Earth from now on has a population of seven billions people. The United Nations has chosen the 31st August as the date of birth, however, history has proven that demographers
rarely accurate, so it is quite likely that the child is already born somewhere.
Growth in population is growing rapidly throughout history. Experts estimate that 2,000 years ago Earth had 300 million people. The first one billion population has reached the 1800th year, but in only 11 years of the 21st century, the total population increased by one billion.
Taking into account these changes and many unpredictable factors, from wars to epidemics, experts in their estimates of future population growth tend to be careful as it is a long-term weather forecasts.
However, the UN expects that by 2050. on Earth will live between 8 and 10.5 billion people. Changes in the number and growth will vary from continent to continent. India, which today has 1.2 billion people will soon take the lead from China, where 1.3 billion people live, and the populations most populous African country of Nigeria, which now counts 162 million, will rise to around 750 million.
This population growth, of course, implies increasing pressure on resources - land, food, water and energy resources, and many experts predict it could lead to wars. World environmental organization WWF estimates that we would for a normal life until 2050. may need three planets if we do not change current habits.
It is estimated that from the first Homo sapiens on planet Earth, and to this day, that 100 billions people lived on the planet earth.
